The design of the clock Gui: when time encounters beauty In the high-intensive industrial technology information age, we all want to seek for a long-awaited inner peace owning to the busy life. When the work of ‘re-interpreting time’ was proposed, I had thought carefully about the way to comfort ourselves with industrial design. Since the design came from emotion, the stock was adopted to crave the tenderness of water waves, and the marks left on the cobblestone beach, the annual ring on the wood, the flowing time, as well as the trace of sandstones after being washed, all these were familiar in the childhood of each one. It was an appeal to the inner peace from a sense of mechanism, and also an interpretation for memory and time from the beauty of material. Besides, these materials were available and environmentally-friendly. The clock was named as Gui, which originally referred to the admittance rites of Buddhism, also a conclusion of inner Peace.
The design of the clock Gui: when time encounters beauty

Concept

In the high-intensive industrial technology information age, we all want to seek for a long-awaited inner peace owning
to the busy life. When the work of ‘re-interpreting time’ was proposed, I had thought carefully about the way to comfort
ourselves with industrial design. Since the design came from emotion, the stock was adopted to crave the tenderness
of water waves, and the marks left on the cobblestone beach, the annual ring on the wood, the flowing time, as well as
the trace of sandstones after being washed, all these were familiar in the childhood of each one. It was an appeal to the
inner peace from a sense of mechanism, and also an interpretation for memory and time from the beauty of material.
Besides, these materials were available and environmentally-friendly. The clock was named as Gui, which originally
referred to the admittance rites of Buddhism, also a conclusion of inner Peace.
