    S Y N is a bi-themed publication involving the two subjects ‘leaving’ and ‘arriving’. The conception of the form composed of two corporal connected booklets, aims to give a physical equivalent of two opposing themes mutually dependent to each other. There is no arriving without leaving — and vice versa. Each booklet contains one motif of the publication. The folding allows to view each theme separately, parallel as well as coinciden­tally combined. As an analogy to ‘leaving’ and ‘arriving’, a meta-level spanning the entire magazine refers to the story of the ropedancer ­Philippe Petit, who realized his astonishing desire of balancing on a tightrope between New York’s twin towers in 1974.
