In cooperation with E-ink, our team was able to design, develop and produce a phone case which displayed animated patterns and images, using the E-ink’s brand signature EPD technology. We started by designing early 2D concepts and mock ups, after presenting them and learning about some problems and limitations, we proceed to redesign ours ideas and create some animations to get a better understanding and feeling for it. After a few more meetings back and forward we managed to narrow all our proposals to two. Then we decided to re-create the 2 final proposals as a 3D model, to help with the final decision. Finally our boss made the difficult decision and chose one of them. Afterwards we move on to design different color options and material combinations that will be produced as working samples.
