Darling Magazine is an independent magazine dedicated to celebrating and empowering women as they are. Each magazine features a woman on the front cover. I was inspired to feature influencer, Zoe Sugg on the cover, who I believe empowers her followers, especially young girls, to put their best foot forward in the world. Her transparency with her struggle with anxiety makes her all the more relatable to her followers. She is the perfect choice for the cover of Darling Magazine. Inside the magazine, Zoe is featured as a guest editor where she details her struggle with anxiety and how she learned to manage it and hopefully one day to fully overcome it.
This is a lifestyle catalog for Free People. Staying true to the brand’s mission statement of catering to an adventurous and carefree woman, the Wanderlust concept was developed. The catalog features a day in the life of two Free People women. Through the catalog, the consumer sees them in different scenarios such as making ceramics or having brunch at a coffee shop. These scenarios also showcase the lifestyle products such as the ceramics and kitchen utensils. To tie the concept together, the original color palette of pastel pink and white was kept to drive home the notion that it is a Free People catalog.
Bookcase is a zine that provides recommendations to avid readers as well as non-avid readers. The goal of this zine is to shed a new light on the pleasure of reading (physical) books that will lure and transform the reader into new places of their imagination.
Martha Stewart Living magazine has content about home decor, food, recipes and much more. To incorporate healthy living and kitchen products with a pop of color, I styled fruit infused water in mason jars.
This Girls’ Generation music concert set design was inspired by the De Stijl design movement. More specifically, Peit Mondrian and his artwork which embodies the key elements of the De Stijl movement. The key elements are simple geometric shapes and primary colors. To modernize the movement, my group paired it with the popular Korean pop music group Girl’s Generation’s album, Hoot.  We designed a concert stage design for the album incorporating elements of the De Stijl movement. Pulling inspiration from Mondrian’s artwork, we set that as the main backdrop of the stage. However, instead of the primary colors, we pulled the neon colors from the Girls’ Generation album cover. It is the perfect representation of the De Stijl movement in the modern era.
This is an Old Navy double window installation that is designed and created for the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising X Gap, Inc. partnership in San Francisco. Inspired by San Francisco, the city, in which, Old Navy was founded in, the main theme is diversity. Old Navy offers a wide range of clothing options in various colors. San Francisco on the same spectrum houses a diverse group of people from all kinds of background that prove to be just as colorful as Old Navy’s clothing. Pairing the brand and the city together came to be a fun and eccentric combination.
Inspired by spring colors and minimal simplicity, a floral archway was created with multifunction purpose.The florals gives a spring-like feel while the sheer voile brings a light and airy feel that brings the entire design together. The archway has dual purpose, in which, it can serve as a romantic photo backdrop for guests to take pictures with. It can also serve as a lovely backdrop for the bride and groom table. The overall design including the table setting was kept to a minimum, letting the floral colors pop through.
The goal of Anna James brand and collection launch event is to give potential consumers better insight into the brand itself. Anna James is more than just a brand that sells minimalistic jewelry. Anna James is a lifestyle. When consumers wear a piece of Anna James jewelry, they will feel put together and ready to take on whatever life throws at them. The Anna James brand is all about empowering women and promoting a simple, healthy, and active lifestyle. Anna James gracefully invites you to their With Grace collection launch event this holiday season.
Paper Heart is a card, stationary, and gift store. The purpose of Paper Heart is to give a gift with heart. To convey this message into the retail space, a warm and inviting environment was created with touches of home decor to pull the space together. The pastel pink walls provides a pop of color that is fun and inviting without being too bold. Paired with home decor accents and fixtures, the retail space is cozy and inviting.
Inspired by a rustic farmhouse theme, Greenhouse Theater & Dining aims to deliver the ultimate dining and movie watching experience. It is a twist on the “at home backyard movie” or the evermore classic drive-in movie combined with a farm-to-table home cooked meal. The Greenhouse Theater & Dining aims to make watching a movie into a large scale movie watching event whether it be a comedy, romantic, horror movie, or etc. With the addition of an in-house restaurant, movie goers will have the classic option of a movie and dinner, all in the convenience of one place. It is both efficient and a luxury. Having a meal and watching a movie at the Greenhouse Theater & Dining will be an experience movie goers will never forget and will leave them wanting to come back time and time again.
