Mauricio Peltier's profile

Paulo Musa Architecture

With Paulo Musa, the only heir to the profession of a traditional office in Rio de Janeiro, a curious coincidence happened. We were simultaneously developing two other projects: one, for an office of architecture and urbanism; and the second, a commemorative exhibition of 80 years and 55 of activity for another architect with plenty of production.
Paulo visited us during this process, we talked and soon settled in the same structure of shared work. Brand repositioning and redesign was the natural result of a new partnership. In addition to the implicit luggage that the surname brought, we needed to emphasize the particularities of a low profile and laborious architect who has already designed, without vain, residences, condominiums, hotels, shops, skyscrapers, airports and technological research centers, among many other things.
The briefing was not derived from the earlier mark, outlined by the architect himself, which, in our evaluation, paid too much tribute to his predecessors and did not emphasize the client's personality.
According to Le Corbusier, architecture would be "the wise, correct and magnificent play of the volumes arranged under the light." From there we imagine a typographical cut of form-counterform / shadow-light to establish a visual and conceptual dialogue between the name and the office. After the basic Visual Identity implementation, we developed the website.
