    The death of my father; remains myself is a homage to my father. I am what remains of his bloodline. Lau Yuen Chen’s journey ended when he was 46 years old to start the next chapter of his life. He grew up in Buddhist belief, but eventually converted to Catholicism; my mother's religious practice. My parents fled Vietnam in the late seventies and became refugees in Israel before settling in Falls Church, Virginia to become American citizens. This series is a glimpse into Lawrence’s past through documents, photographs and video that was left behind. These documents once gave him physical presence and now historical evidence of assimilation into western society. Lawrence Lau died on October 2, 1997 at 21:30; I was seven years old. Read Less
