Drawing maps is my latest passion. If I draw a map for a country, I definitely want to visit it someday. Today I draw China map with its tourist attractions and amazing historical monuments.

I started with finding out some interesting details about this country. I drew the outline and sketched some of the most majestic sights. On this stage, it's just a sketch, the colours will be added later in Inkscape.

Next, I use the Pigma micron liner to go over the lines and make them more vivid. It is needed, because for vectorising it is of great importance to have contrasting to background vivid black lines.

I scan the picture with my Brother DCP 7057-R scanner and vectorise the image in Inkscape. Then I decide with the colour combination that I will use for the final art. To tell the truth, this stage is the most time consuming for me (maybe because I want everything to be perfect). When I've done that, all that is left is filling everything with the appropriate colour from the colour palette.
