LUCEFONTANA 01

I created this object during a lighting workshop in Este, Padova, Italy.
We collected scraps from factories around the area, in which I made this lamp from woods I found and Polypropylene.
I wanted to create a desk lamp that would never get boring; something that could change and play with lighting.
I’ve designed it so that the two wooden vases can move, allowing you to create your own light.

When I saw the central pieces of hollow steel, I decided to make something from them, my inspiration coming from Parentesti Di Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzù.
I designed the lamp with a small cable passing through the folded peices of steel to allow it to hang securely from the ceiling.
I found a solution to manipulate the lights as I want them and I used polypropylene to create a cover for the light bulbs that link to the other lamp.
Hanging between the ceiling and the floor, this lamp creates a zen atmosphere and a space that link past and present.
As a designer I find beauty in the imperfect, and my principle is to create interiors with objects that are sacred, not precious.
