Branding Identity & Applications

Goetia Sweets is a local boutique candy store that creates its own confectionaries, while also offering personalized candy kits, recipe books, and fashion accessories. The project involved the creation of an original brand identity, a variety of packages, and stationery elements such as, business cards, membership cards, and event invitations. 

The name and direction was inspired by the word Goëtia, which is a practice that involves the conjuration of the seventy-two demons associated with King Solomon from a 17th century grimoire called “The Lesser Key of Solomon.” The contract between dark and evil, and happy and sweet is intentional in order to create an eerie yet inviting appearance. Two main elements of the design are a bright and saturated main colour and a detailed black and white illustration to represent the flavour of candy and the demon’s personality. These elements are repeated throughout the rest of the designs and products, building a strong and consistent foundation to Goetia Sweets’ branding identity.
Goetia Story
A card collecting console video game was also created based off the ‘Goetia Sweets’ brand called ‘Goetia Story’. The project involved creating a card-based console game with a variety of characters, design the screen flow, wireframes, UI designs, and prototype using Invision. The gameplay is similar to ‘Hearthstone’ or ‘Shadowverse’ as a player versus player card battling game, with a few extra features and elements that are found in most Japanese games.
