I was tasked with designing a logotype with motion, by taking inspiration from a movement I was able to observe.

I looked at the way rings are shaped in water and in the whipped cream, and decided to build a simple simulation in 3D with Three.JS to get an environment where I could experiment with the motion.

I started to notice that when I had the rings move in Z space and move further away from the origin, I started to get a structure that looked like a mountain.

I got inspired by topography and decided to create a logo with living topography in it, that would change depending on what it needed to represent. So if the logo was visible on a website, geolocation in the browser would provide longitude and latitude for google maps to deliver the altitude, and with that we can manipulate the shapes.

I chose the company Nordeca for the rebrand, because they are a geospatial company that works with cartography and geographic research. They are based in Norway.

I coded the final logo in p5.js which is a Javascript port of Processing, used to code creative graphics.
