Ruler -- Rebel is a piece inspired by the modern jazz trumpeter Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah, an artist who uses instrumental jazz as a form of protest. This piece represents a filtering system that exists in our society today, nearly all our experiences are had through a virtual filter. The beauty of this piece is still visible, but only viewable through a layer of bubble wrap, a material generally associated with protection is now a pervasive filter.
