For a team project in a Mobile Marketing class as part of the first certificate program in Mobile Business Strategy (2012 - 2013) at the University of Washington Extension in Seattle, I produced a responsive mobile web site. The team selected Golazo -- a young Seattle-based sports hydration and energy beverage company whose target consumer demographic is soccer enthusiasts -- to organize a 12-month mobile marketing plan as required for the class project.

Golazo's existing web site is currently not optimized for mobile displays, and I took that as an opportunity to redesign a prototyped vision of what their site could become by focusing on their brand and brand identity. Towards that I end, I wanted to help elevate that profile by choosing a minimal and clean user interface considering screen size variations of the mobile display.

The prototype for the mobile site has a responsive web grid structure courtesy of the skeleton.js javascript library as the site's backbone rendering a flexible design layout for browsers on desktop displays, iPads and tablets, and smartphones. The mobile design includes HTML5 / CSS3 markup for page layout and responsive image and table column flexibility achieved with skeleton.js. Additional custom features include a Store Locator produced with the Google Maps Store Locator API, Jquery, HTML5, CSS3 and XML. The embedded Vimeo video player is also designed for responsive screen size variance. The focus on a single web site solution rather than tailoring a mobile site matched to a specific mobile device and platform achieves a flexible responsive web design that works.
