Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet: Costume for Mercutio.
Set in a dystopian future where scavenging is the main form of survival, I created a plastic bag knitted vest, a woven cape with sections of rag rugging attached to American football shoulder pads. I made the design for Mercutio a representation of the toxic masculinity of his character by exaggerating his shoulders and giving him a bold, commanding silhouette to hide a smaller, more boyish body.
