Abandonment I - Monagas

Abandonment I
- a series of photographs taken in places that were forgotten by the government and its administration.
These were places that once flourished. They lived in the memories of people as places of enjoyment and tranquility. Their current state is saddening, as these spaces are now forgotten and, therefore, abandoned. It's impressive how most people have not noticed the absence of these spaces.
This first part was taken in the Parque Familiar Julio Enrique Monagas, a family park that opened its doors in 1994. Birthday parties, barbecues, and joyful events were celebrated here. On Sundays, you could see kids with their bikes or flying their kites. Today it remains closed. The weeds growing up to 3-4 feet high; the train tracks are unrecognizable; the lake where the boats were is gray and muddy.
"Unfortunately, each administration wants to leave its mark with new works and forget about the maintenance of existing ones. Thus wasting the money of the people. The Monagas park is not the only thing in abandonment. Also the Linear Walks, the tennis courts of Los Caobos, the new clay courts and the Soccer Park."

Also the Linear Walks, the tennis courts of Los Caobos, the new clay courts, the Soccer Park and if you wish, continue to name some, because there is much, much more."
