Spira is a cooperative that supports the creation and production of independent cinema. Figure was commissioned to make a special edition of the Spirascope. A printed newspaper who was published by the organization in the 90s. Forty years later, Spira had the idea to revive this document to reveal the known and unknown parts of its history and to illustrate its evolution. Our solution was to design this newspaper as a trip in the 90s, where the Spirascope was born for the first time. Like the cover made with the Spirograph, all the elements (papers, illustrations, ink, stickers, etc.) were designed to suggest nostalgia and this return in time.
Spira est une coopérative qui soutient la création et la production en cinéma indépendant. Figure a été mandaté pour faire une édition spéciale du Spirascope, un journal d’information imprimé, dont plusieurs numéros on été publiés par l'organisme dans les années 90. Pour ses 40 ans, Spira a eu l’idée de faire revivre ce document pour dévoiler les pans connus et méconnus de son histoire et pour illustrer son évolution. Notre solution fut de concevoir ce cahier comme un voyage dans les années 90, là où le Spirascope à vu le jour pour la première fois. Comme la couverture fait à l’aide du spirographe, tous les éléments (papiers, illustrations, encre, autocollant, etc.) ont été conçus dans le but de suggérer la nostalgie et ce retour dans le temps.
