Working alongside Blue Print Interiors, we were delighted to be able to transform the reception area of Rainbow’s Children’s Hospice in Loughborough. 

  

As the East Midland’s only hospice for children and young people with life-limiting conditions the hospice wanted to make every visit feel as safe and welcoming as possible. It was also important that the entrance provided a sense of intrigue and magic – and appealed to all ages.

We came up with the idea of a rainforest as the focal point for the entrance to the hospice, with a yellow brick path leading you to the reception desk and then beyond. Elements from the mural were included on the floor to make the scene as realistic as possible. The other side of the doors also carried the rainforest theme helping redirect people back to reception.

Once through the doors, children and their families are greeted by a fresh and friendly Alpine scene providing way-finding to matron’s office, dining room and family flats. The wall murals were printed onto a durable wallpaper canvas with 3D elements including butterflies and leaves. The floor was created in printed vinyl with a slip-proof seal.
