De Play-Offs zijn Blauw-Zwart! THE PLAY-OFFS ARE BLUE-BLACK!
Hans Vanaken stelde eerder deze avond in Brugge het unieke Limited edition Play-Off Shirt voor aan de fans. Vanaf zaterdag en tijdens de Play-Offs kan je Club aan het werk zien in het shirt dat Blauw en Zwart samenbracht in Brugge.

Sinds dit seizoen hebben Club en Macron een teamwear partnership. Een belangrijk motief voor die samenwerking was de vrijheid in design en de inbreng van onze fans in het ontwerp van onze shirts. Zo werden dit seizoen zowel het Home als het Away shirt al mee ontworpen door onze supporters. Macron geeft zijn teams ook de kans om tijdens het seizoen unieke shirts uit te brengen voor speciale gelegenheden, zoals OGC Nice en PAOK in het verleden al deden. Ook Club besliste dit seizoen een shirt te ontwerpen ter gelegenheid van de Play-Offs.

Club gaat voor de Play-Offs met dit Limited edition Play-Offs-shirt terug naar de begindagen van zijn bestaan. Rond 1900 speelde Club in een combinatie van lichtblauw en donkerblauw, wat langs de zijlijn vaak overkwam als blauw en zwart. Vandaar dat Brugge in de volksmond al snel ‘Blauw-Zwart’ genoemd werd. In 1907 kwamen dan de eerste iconische shirts: lichtblauw en zwart, opgedeeld in twee vlakken met de mouwen in de tegengestelde kleur van het aanpalende borstvlak. De geboorte van het ‘echte’ Blauw-Zwart, een shirt gedragen door ‘Torten’ Goetinck en Charles Cambier.

Birger Vandendriessche, nauw betrokken in het ontwerp van de shirts voor dit seizoen, is laaiend enthousiast over het vintage shirt. "Voor mij hoort dit shirt in de top-3 van Club-shirts thuis. Simpelweg omdat het een ode aan het eerste blauw-zwarte shirt van Club is, een mijlpaal in de Brugse geschiedenis. Ondertussen is Blauw-Zwart onlosmakelijk verbonden aan Club Brugge in België, daar heeft dit shirt toe bijgedragen. Uiteraard is het een klassiek shirt, zonder te veel franjes. We hebben het oude concept in een nieuw, modern jasje gestoken."
