Tree Of Knowledge : Stage Design

TREE OF KNOWLEDGE

The tree of knowledge was designed for the inauguration of an international conference
conducted by National Institute Of Fashion Technology, at Crafts Museum, New Delhi.
It also functioned as the backdrop for the fashion show organised by FDCI in collaboration with PC Jeweller.
The concept behind the Tree Of Knowledge was to bring together the numerous regional textiles of India in one artwork and five major Indian textile were picked namely Madhubani from Mithila, Namda from Kashmir, Gond Art from the Adivasi community, Block Printing from Rajasthan and Kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh. The amalgamation of these crafts was symbolic of the rich cultural heritage of our country and an appeal to take the legacy forward incorporating these in new age fashion.

The Tree was hence respectively made in five panels and was lighted through the five podiums by the dignitaries present and concluded by
The Hon'ble Minister of Textiles, GOI Mrs. Smriti Irani.
I was felicitated by The Minister for the same.
Completed under the guidance and support of Dr. Dimple Bahl.
