The relationship between man and the built environment

Cityscapes: The Relationship between man and the built environment
This project investigates the relationship between man and the built environment which eventually constructs a cityscape. This series brings the idea that both the man and built environment work together to form a cityscape. The relationship is broken down to three parts: communication, familiarity, change.

Photos were taken with a Canon EOS88 (35mm Kodak Gold 200 + Fujifilm C200) and iPhone6.
In the initial start of the relationship, the built environment initiates by communicating with the human. In this case, I define communication to be signages and icons.

After communication, the man starts to rely and familiarise themselves with the built environment. For example, using the environment as shelter, support and a way of life.
Once the man familiarises with the built environment, they start making changes to it. The human behaviour alters the original intent of the built environment hence leaving their traces and marks around. Thus, forming a cityscape of their own.
