In this project, I explore the role of text and writing systems in a Visual Communication Design context by transforming Chinese characters into unreadable symbols. Text then becomes something with no meanings but only visual effects, like a bunch of placeholders. Together the intentionally cropped images and blocks covering certain parts of the text suggest hidden narratives beneath. 

This design won Jury Award in The 4th National University Students Book Design Exhibition.
