Poster contest for the 34th Gaume Jazz Festival (Belgium)

• WINNER 2018 •

I wanted to put the accent on the new jazz scene, consisting of young professional musicians. I chose to illustrate those long rehearsals and moments of practice with this quite "contrasted" trumpeter : he's dressed formally for his next show, while the bow tie and the attitude evoke youth.

Background colors, despite being cold, bring a shiny summer atmosphere. The greenery might represent an exotic destination which influenced other styles of jazz, but the hills and lake in the background bring you back to Belgium.
