We started with the logo… and since Advanced Electrical Equipment was already referred to in the electrical trade as “Advanced”, we decided to just dispense with the 19 redundant characters and tagline. This saved unnecessary cost, provided greater visual impact and flexibility, and avoided alienating their loyal customer base.

The bright yellow colour was chosen for the spot array device for several reasons: as a point of difference from competitors (see the 5th image below showing old vs new logo and competitor colours), for its safety and industry workwear associations, and to represent energy, light globes and lighting systems – a large component of Advanced’s business.
