MORPHEUS

MORPHEUS is my entry in the Modular Logistic Vehicle Design Challenge by LaunchFort (formerly Local Motors) to meet US Marine Corps' future needs.

Morpheus (or “Mo” for short) is an all-electric vehicle with a symmetrical primary truss structure not only along the longitudinal, but also the lateral axis. Together with a number of 3D printable modular components at secondary structure level, that are readily field-exchangeable, this double-symmetry approach extends modularity to the manufacturing level. The concept pivots about clearing the way to create space for flexibility. This is achieved by moving the two fundamental elements, i.e. the engine and driver off the cabin. (Although the time is approaching for an unmanned solution, Mo is not unmanned.) In-wheel electrical motors and an ATV like driver configuration enables a non-obstructed volume to be spared to adapt to mission needs.
