Playing Mother Nature
Many winter sports resorts depend on snowmaking for their livelihood, but most people do not fully appreciate the science behind efficient snowmaking that graces the slopes during a hard, cold, often windy night of work while most feel warm and are fast asleep.
Producing snow for perfectly groomed pistes comes at a price, though. The silent and magical winter nights in the woods on the mountain slopes are a thing of the past as roaring snow guns and lances spout their white load all night long. Location: Davos Parsenn (Switzerland).
