Drop the Body - Production Design Scheme
One of my most challenging yet enjoyable projects was the designing of a set for a situation comedy (a sitcom). The main composite set of a business space was required as well as a living space, supposedly linked by a staircase. Moreover, the presence of a studio audience had significant influence over the design.
My brief was to design two sets for a sitcom revolving around a funeral directors. The architecture and character of an existing location informed the final layout and style of the sets. Materials, construction methods and dressing props were also considered in the design scheme. I produced research, a sketchbook, technical drawings using AutoCAD, a 1:50 scale model, concept art, visual and material references as well as a props list in order to complete this project.
