Below are pictures of the process; I have to say, showing this to you makes me feel naked.
I had to make a dummy to check the pacing of the whole storybook.
There were dozens of character studies for Dodong, this is the one that came through.
I chose a cat as a model for the fire spirit for its character versatility--it has this ability to transform quickly from being amiable to monstrous and back again.
