Cholita's Wrestling is not just an incredible show in Bolivia.
Wrestling to cholitas means empowerment. it means fighting racism, discrimination and public abuse.
Cholita is the term, once derogatory, who refers to indigenous woman, usually Aymara, who wear polleras (long round skirts) and bowler hats. For a long time they suffered discrimination and were banned from most public spaces.
Now cholitas are more respected, also thanks to these kind of initiatives.
