"MALEFICENT"

E' un omaggio ad uno dei più grandi disegnatori della storia, MARC DAVIS, divenuto celebre grazie alla sua decennale collaborazione alla realizzazione di alcuni grandi classici d'animazione di Walt Disney, tra cui "La bella addormentata nel bosco"(1959).
Durante la creazione dei personaggi era consono fare bozze a matita; durante il processo di lavorazione alcune di queste venivano colorate .
Ad oggi uno di questi disegni, riguardante l'iconico personaggio di Malefica, è esposto nel museo Walt Disney Family Museum (potete vedere il disegno originale di Marc Davis in fondo alla pagina). Ne ho riprodotto fedelmente le fattezze, dando soprattutto importanza al movimento dell'abito; ho voluto poi aggiungere nella scena dei rovi e in lontananza il castello.
Infine ho riproposto la firma e i codici a matita di Davis.
Lightbox of h. 30 cm x l. 30 cm entirely designed and handmade, in paper. It is a tribute to one of the greatest designers in history, MARC DAVIS, who became famous thanks to his ten-year collaboration in the creation of some great animation classics by Walt Disney, including "The Sleeping Beauty" (1959). During the creation of the characters it was appropriate to make pencil sketches; during the working process some of these were colored. To date, one of these drawings, concerning the iconic character of Maleficent, is exhibited in the Walt Disney Family Museum (you can see the original drawing by Marc Davis at the bottom of the page). I faithfully reproduced the features, giving above all importance to the movement of the dress; I then wanted to add the castle in the scene of brambles and in the distance. Finally I repeated Davis's signature and pencil codes.
