I never expected to be doing, much less really enjoying, wedding photography. Then again, I've always loved documenting my friends' works of performance art, and weddings have ten times the chaos of even the wildest performer.
So, camera in hand, I feel right at home with brides, grooms, families, children and all the love and wildness that this kind of event can bring out in people.
All Digital Photo & Video gave me my start--a summer of shooting every wedding I possibly could alongside seasoned professionals, who gave me a crash course in how to actually use my flash (one of the things I never learned in art school), how to pose people, what basics to cover and best of all, how to have fun doing it. I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to start out under their tutelage.
I bring my art background to all the weddings I shoot. I prefer to be in the thick of things, collecting intimate moments with short, shallow lenses, rich, romantic colors and switching to wide-angle action when things get crazy later in the night.
