WINTER'S TALE
Slowly winter is coming to an end. Time to round up the cold season. Forests and trees are among my favorite photographic subjects. Especially in Central Europe environment is changing its appearance in a strong way. During winter the landscpae appears more like an ink painting, not like the lush and vibrant place woods are during the rest of the year. But the patterns and structures drawn by branches and stems in front of the often snowy background offer special opportunities for photographers. Abstract metaphors that are much more than just winter trees: Winter was the time when tales and legends were told at home, the whole family sitting around the tiled stove. The mystic figures are just waiting in front of the doorstep, snow and frost seem to make trees alive.
