This piece of my AS Level course was the first instalment of my coursework. The start of the project we looked at drawing primary objects of natural forms using different gradients for shadowing and definition. Afterwards, I started to create larger study sheets of mixed media studies which all were different media. Looking into Japanese art and different types of textile artists and nature artists, I decided to create a cushion made from scratch. I dyed the fabric myself to achieve the desired mint green, which I used a cushion template to create the back of the case. As for the detail of the cushion, I created it using the batik hot wax and dye before finally using different sewing techniques and embellishments on top and outlining the design using ribbon. For GCSE Fine Art, I achieved a grade B overall.
