PACKAGE DESIGN FOR CHA CHA
This is a work that I cooperate with one of the most popular Chinese food companies Cha Cha and the National Museum of China. I designed the package of a gift box for superior quality roasted sunflower seeds. The elements of the illustration come from an antique mirror from A.D. 756 provided by National Museum of China. I separated the characters and objects from the antique and turned them into illustrations.
The gift box was planned to be sold during Chinese Spring Festival. So I redesigned the patterns to show a festival scene in which people gather and celebrate. Therefore, the package and the antique could share the same meaning. Usually people will choose red and yellow as coloring schemes of food package during Spring Festival. But I chose a warm but elegant coloring scheme in order to express both the feeling of festival and the high-end positioning of the gift box. And I tried to keep all the characters clear and easy to understand because the gift boxes were possibly to be given to the elderlies as gifts.
Thanks for watching! :)
