BONUM Restaurant Visual idendity

Dry aged steak with salt, black pepper and wasabi at Bonum, Hiroshima

Logo design for BONUM wine & bistro
BONUM wine & bistro is a restaurant and wine bar open for lunch and dinner and specialising in dry-aged beef. They also sell their meat wholesale and online.
Their clientele is mainly made up of people between 30 and 50 years old and women who like to cook at home.

The client’s needs
They wanted a pictogram and a logo that could work separately or in combination. They needed to use their logo on stickers on the packaging of the dry-aged beef for sale and on paper bags.
Keywords used: elegant, clean, simple, wood, grey, Muji, Elle Table

The creative solution
For the pictogram, I came up with the idea of a bull’s head drawn in a clean line art style symbolising beef.
Rather than using a pure grey, which would have looked cold, I chose a tea beige. It brings warmth and gives the logo a more sophisticated look.
Finally, I chose a straight, bold, regular font to bring elegance and the same simplicity as found on the packaging of Muji.
