Creative Objective
The objective behind this design problem was to distill the visuals down to the simplest form, while still maintaining a strong visual connection to the term, 'Disruptivist'. The creative team collaborated together to chose individuals in history that we admired and felt made an disruptive and innovative impact in the world.
I was assigned to Lucille Ball, who is one of my idols, and it was so much fun to illustrate. When it came to ’splaining herself, Lucille Ball’s actions often spoke as loudly as her formidable pipes. After a bumpy road through radio, theatre, and the film studio system, CBS tasked her to develop “I Love Lucy,” a show still viewed by—and a sentiment still shared by—millions to this day.
