I designed this plate as a gift for my newest nephew. Inspiration: Mom and Dad like to repeat Max's name in triplicate and in a hearty fashion. Also the parents have a wonderful collection of outsider art that includes a Fiji Mermaid.
The plate was created entirely in Illustrator. The Fiji Mermaid took three attempts to make it friendly enough for a really little kid.
