Summit on Human Dignity Poster 2018

Starting February 26, Brophy College Preparatory will spend two full weeks hosting their "Summit on Human Dignity".  The summit for this year is titled "For Sale: The Commodification of the Human Person".  Throughout this summit, the students at Trophy will be exposed to the realities of human trafficking, pornographic culture, and modern enslavement.  For this project, we were tasked with designing a poster that truly captures the human dignity of the human person so as to bring a highlight to the horrible nature of these injustices.
Instead of focusing on the dreary, cliche human trafficking posters, we decided to design a poster that accentuates the human dignity of the women involved in these injustices.  We also added the text to relay a powerful message to the intended audience.  This way, the poster truly focuses on the "human dignity" aspect of the "Summit on Human Dignity".
Our initial vision of our project was to design the project around a powerful quote.  However, upon trying to find a quote we realized that most quotes were quite long and would just fail to capture and hold onto the attention of the reader.  We were also initially interested in the dissolving affect on the Canvas page.
We made changes based on our wonderful graphic design teacher Mr. Cooper Davis and other students input.  Our drafts didn't change a whole lot.  However, we realized that we had a lot of negative.  So we enlarged the girl, and had her look at the text so she interacted with the poster a little more and we had a less rigid, hierarchical project.
