Larchmont Spring Carnival Posters
The Larchmont Spring Carnival is an annual community event that raises funds for the local elementary school. Each year is individually themed with the poster and a handout appearing in local businesses to promote the event. The posters were designed and illustrated to appeal to a school aged audience and their families.
This carnival featured an "exploratorium" theme where graduate students from the local university helped create interesting projects such as a bike powered spin art machine, a giant camera obscura and a working hovercraft.
The focus of this carnival was the new learning garden that the elementary school had built and were raising funds for.
With the school's mascot being a leopard, it fit in nicely with the carnival theme that was chosen. Over 10,000 egg shells were collected and turned into confetti eggs which became an overwhelming mess.
With the elementary school scheduled to be torn down and replaced, this represented the final year that the carnival would be held at the current location.
