The Scripps Collaboratory as a small project that is intended for the Scripps Gerontology graduate students and professors at Miami University. The space was inspired by the Scripps Center's Opening Minds Through Art, which is an intergenerational art program which provides artistic opportunities for people with dementia. The paintings done by some of the participants were used as inspiration for the abstract lighting around the room, as well as custom fabric in the space. The colors provide a calming space, and the various seating areas provide opportunities for small to large groups to meet. Additionally, the main screen at the front of the room can be seen from every seat in the room for large meetings, and stool stored below can be moved for more seating arrangements.
