A book design about traditional provision shop.
Malaysia is a multicultural country, however ‘Za Ba Lang’ is the best expression of diverse symbol in this country. ‘Za Ba Lang’ represent different races people that can gather at provision shop and create a beautiful memory together. Inside of ‘Za Ba Lang’, whether it is a spoon of soy sauce, or a small piece of biscuit, it is a delivery of human warm. Moreover, provision shop is not an economic or monetary value can be measured. Provision shop is not just a business only, there is some deep meaning behind the existence of the commodity... is a strong human warm.
馬來西亞是個多元文化的國家， 然而“雜 8 lang”是這個國家最能表達多元的象征。 “雜 8 lang”代表著不同種族集聚在一間小雜貨鋪，共同創下的美好回憶。在“雜 8 lang”里，不論是一勺子的醬油，或是一小塊餅乾，都是人情味的一種傳遞，絕非只是經濟效益或金錢物質所能衡量的價值。雜貨店並不只是一門生意而已，在商品背後存在的深厚意義… … 是一份濃郁的人情味。
‘Provision Shop’ is either one’s childhood memory or is threatened with extinction in the industry in cities people’s perception. It used to be the centre of each city that people cannot lives without it. Provision shop is small but perfectly formed; we can find everything such as household goods, foods, toys, at the same time it is people’s sources of living supplies. Besides that, it is a place that let people gather and chit chat together, the friendship between the owner and the customers profoundly exist. There is no advanced computerized system and also does not have diverse selection like supermarket but it has the feeling of warmth, a strong human touch.
“雜貨店”，在很多城市人的觀念里，如果不是童年回憶，則是面臨絕種的行業。它曾經是每個市區的中心點，它是人們生活中不可或缺的存在。麻雀雖小，五臟俱全，凡是家中用品，食物，玩具都能在雜貨店購買，也是人們一切生活用品的來源。它是街坊們的聚集地，大家會再雜貨店討論大小事，顧客與老闆之間的情誼在這裡深深地存在著。它沒有先進的電腦化系統，也沒有現代超市的多樣化選擇，它們有著比起以上會讓人覺得溫暖，親切的濃厚人情味。
The times, The stuffs, The memories.
The groceries sell in provision shop was amply provisioned, but nowadays is hard to find those RM1 groceries in provision shop. However, these stationery, toys and snacks can be purchase within RM1 in the past. These groceries accompany us go through many lovely memories and never forgotten a whole life.
雜貨店售賣的雜貨應有盡有，然而能夠用1零吉購買到的雜貨已經寥寥無幾。這些文具，玩具和零食在過去的雜貨店都能以1零吉以內購買到。這些雜貨伴隨著我們度過了很多歲月，讓人不禁回想起當年的回憶，非常值得讓人懷念。
