ABOUT SHUGARUSH ACCESSORIES
My name is Nurit Motchan (f.k.a Benchetrit), I am a professional freelance illustrator (illustration website) and accessories designer from Tel Aviv, Israel. I graduated the Neri Bloomfield School of design in Haifa (Wizo) in 2013, BA of graphic design. Soon afterwards I became a freelancer.
I was always fascinated by accessories and dreamt of having my own line. It was only natural for me to launch my own line, Shugarush Accessories (pronounced sugar-rush). I created my first item, the Floral Cat enamel pin, in late 2016. It was followed by several other pin designs and soon evolved into a whole line that included necklaces, earrings, bracelets and patches. The floral cat pin remained my signature piece thanks to it's popularity.
My designs are known for their simple and precise lines. My most common themes are galaxy, cats or flowers. They are nostalgic concepts with a modern feel, they are both sophisticated and fun. I like to add a whimsical twist to my designs. Like this bar necklace, that has the solar system on it, and it glows in the dark. Or these bow earrings, that you can wear the ribbon piece on the back of your ear.
I tend to seek the unique, chic and eye catching designs. My inspiration comes from vintage pieces, modern trends, high fashion brands and nature. I put a lot of effort in each creation, adjusting and tweaking each design. You can see some of my design process in my blog, and my production process in this video.
Shugarush Accessories is a one woman show - I am in charge of the whole process; starting from the design, to the manufacturing, to assembling the pieces together, to photographing and marketing, packaging and shipping out orders.
