Haikyoist
A travel journal that brings you in
for a ghoulish adventure.
Unlike other travel journal, The Haikyoist aims to promote abandoned places in Japan as tourist attractions. This journal introduce up to eight urban attractions in Japan which are famous and spooky.

This print publication was submitted to the Scooler Awards 2016 to compete in the Best Publication category and successfully won Gold for the first time.
The art direction of this publication was inspired by how raw and untidy of these abandoned places are. Handwritings and paper tearing are visuals that communicates the idea of abandonment.
Some of the abandoned places such as the Nara Dreamland, a beautifully abandoned theme park and suicide forest, Aokigahara and perhaps the places where human organs were kept in jars, the Nichitsu Clinic are some of the top topics in this travel journal.

You may also get to know more about the Haikyoist festival that celebrates urban exploration through the QR code located at the back of this journal.
This print will be up for pre-order in mid 2018 soon.
