Marayur is a village located 40Km from Munnar on the Munnar Udumalpettai road. The village is famous for jaggery and archaeological sites. Abhaya Trust Mental rehabilitation centre is an open gate mental rehabilitation centre in Marayur run by Joji Kuttickal.
The narrative fiction is inspired from an event that happened in Abhaya Trust last year where a patient ran away and was caught later. Using bits and pieces from the memories I have with Marayur and the feelings I got while visiting the place the story was developed or a short film.
Through the whole exercised my attempt is to learn the medium of filmmaking and storytelling as well technical knowledge on the equipments used.
On a philosophical note the movie is aimed at questioning the concept of
madness and desolation. It deals with boredom as well as adventure. Every character in the movie is erratic to a certain extent and the main character is the only one who is treated for it. The movie take shape when this inmate of the rehabilitation centre wants to see a film in the nearby theatre, the nearest one being 40Km away. He convinces a worker who is a dark mysterious slapdash drunkard. The chemistry that develops and the madness that follows.
The film is aimed at raising eyebrows and questions about insanity.

The whole ordeal of making the film was enthralling and totally fun. Through the exercise nuances of film making, handling a crew and interaction with actors were achieved.
The prime objective of any film is to tell a story. All the equipment, people and every feature should contribute to this primary objective. It’s the story that survives at the end of the day. People may remember scenes and shots however the story has to raise above individuals scenes.

Judging whether a movie is good or bad is again left to the audience. It not only depends on the story telling but to a small extent on the mood of the person, company, ambience as well his previous experience with the subject.
Every movie caters to one type of audience or the other. When the thin line between this
