RNLI Firm Flags Project

RNLI - Firm Flags Project

This project was given to me through contact with the RNLI. On the East-coast of the UK there is often difficulty with the bathing area for users as the current flags used with the RNLI droop down due to insufficient wind forces, as of this, bathers and bodyboarders are unable to see if they are in the safe zone of the beach.

My Design addresses this issue and as of the result can be seen in a 360˚ viewing angle, so when bathers drift outside of the area they can have a direct line of sight to understand where they need to be.

- Flat pack design
- Lightweight
- Affordable

Final prototype was tested in Bude on North-coast of Cornwall to test all weather conditions to experiment with how the flag held up in high winds.
