Csongor and Tünde (Zenta Hungarian Theatre, 2015)
I made two sets for two Zenta Theatre plays, both of which had to be very minimalist and cost-efficient. In the play The Cormorants Haven’t Come Back Yet, the set constantly developed and changed and the actors built it up on stage. A tower was made by the characters at the end of the play from onstage props and tools. The set needed to be mobile, but also had to carry a lot of weight, so I chose to make it from a three-piece aluminum ladder that could be freely moved and would be safe during the play. For the play Csongor and Tünde I used platforms and other found elements from the theatre and built a multi-part set that had an understage and hidden windows. The only new piece of set developed specifically for the play was a six-metre-high placard that was made up of many frames.
