I was hired by Backpacks 4 Our Future to develop a logo for social media and branding purposes. Backpacks 4 Our Future is a non for profit organization that focuses on giving lower income kids, backpacks and supplies to succeed in the future. The truth is not everyone starts off on the same starting line, so its great to see people who can help give back to our future.

The Mood
Developing the initial mood-board for me has always been important. For this logo I wanted get a light, pastel, cartoon like feel. I also used some shots of my 2 year old nephew for body composition.

The Sketches
Working off the mood-board, I began some free sketching. After a few rough drawings, I had the shape of the logo. The egg seemed like the perfect overall shape. To me the egg represented security, potential, fragile and precious. I also incorporated a road or trail which represents the future.

The Results
I feel proud to have worked on this project, and in some small way contributed to the cause. The client was very happy with the logo and so was I.
