In honor of the Hendrix Bridge
Hendrix graffiti that became a part of cultural history of Zagreb
More than twenty years ago, two high school friends made a graffiti that became a cultural identity of Zagreb. On day of Hendrix's birthday, on a Rail Bridge crossing River Sava, two teenagers made a graffiti that changed, both, history and future of Zagreb.
The sign simply involved the logo "HENDRIX“, referring to famous American musician Jim Hendrix.
The "HENDRIX" sign was very big, and was clearly seen by pedestrians and people passing by on surrounding bridges. The locals soon begun to call the site "Hendrix Bridge", even those who didn’t have the slightest idea what the name represented. It soon became a reference point in culture, underlining Zagreb’s urban conscience, rock’n’roll scene and wit of its residents.
Today, bridge has new - modern and urban look with color light effects, and the "HENDRIX" graffiti has been moved.
But, to all of us, it is still "Hendrix Bridge". As a mentioned in previous post, memories and feelings remain, no mater what.
So in honor for livelong and unforgettable graffiti, on 31st January, the day of Blue Moon, I went to the Bridge and made some photos.

I like the construction that is so primitive and so realistic.
Under the bridge where there is no flashy lighting... just a rusty steel like it used be one the top but now they put on some make up 👍🏻
... there should be some entertainment support (content) so a car tire attached to the rope is ideal choice completing rustic design 👩🏼🔧
I mean... I would lie but lights reflection in the restless and troubled river is amazing 🔝
And now... climb up and the reglectiion of lights is still nicely and still grabbing attention
