WordBird- A language board game designed to facilitate and promote co-operative playing and learning for young South Africans.
A thesis study and design solution to assist indigenous speaking children with the acquisition of the English Home language in South Africa as they transition from being taught in their mother-tongues to being taught in English.
The game is intended to promote language acquisition, fun learning, and eco-friendliness at the same time. It is therefore made up of natural materials such as:
clay- dice, timer, and bird pawns
wood- the boardgame, box packaging, puzzle pieces
natural fibre bags- internal packaging for all the game pieces
Instruction manual provided with the game- providing details details on how to play and what the games is about.
