The building is a refurbishment of an old vegetables market, with the creation of two new buildings.
This old market is a big 2 floors “u” form, holding inside a huge courtyard. The open side of the court is facing a square. The main idea is to insert one of the new buildings with offices inside the quad, whereas the other one is facing the square as a main door.
The building inside the courtyard is with the same high, and it has two storeys. This building is to be used for offices. The form creates six smaller courts where the light comes through into the offices. At the same time, this solution permits that the old market building, which also house offices, is perfectly communicated.
The other building is a high structure of concrete, with hotel and commercial uses. His main role in the project is to be the main entrance to the offices in the courtyard building. This idea is represented by tall concrete walls that guide the steps from the city to the building, across the square.
