About Vote16 Illinois

Vote16 Illinois is a student-led campaign to lower the voting age to 16 in Illinois municipal elections. It is part of the broader Vote16 USA organization and is focused on youth enfranchisement, civic engagement, and, of course, suffrage.

Vote16 needed a visual identity that was striking, bold, and unforgettable -- one using clear imagery that could be reproduced anywhere from posters to letterheads to websites.
The Concept

The Vote16 logo started as a sketch of a flag -- it had three bars and a check mark, symbolizing forward progress and active participation, respectively. Borrowing colors form the Chicago flag and iconography from the Vote16 San Francisco campaign, the resulting logo is simple but distinctive.
The mark can be reproduced in any solid color.
