the following work is a part of the wood working workshop in the fourth semester of Industrial design program. the aim of the workshop was to understand wood as a material, wooden joinery, form manipulation, use of hand and power tools, finishes through hands and combining wood with other materials.
tongue and groove joint. material : teak wood
wooden spatula and fruit knife carved out of a local wood (known as solid wood) in andhra pradesh. mild steel wire and copper wire were coiled around later for handles.
form exploration on a rectangular block of packaging wood which had nails in it. the block was taken out from the machinery packaging and then the defects were removed.. material : pine wood
use of hand tools (chisel, mallet, sand paper, saw, etc.,) and hand finishing.
combination of teak and babool wood for exploration of form and finishes.
mild steel wire coiled to make a stand for shaving brush.
